ALLENTOWN, Pa. (WFMZ) \u2014 From the Lehigh Valley to Berks and Montgomery Counties, thousands rallied at ‘No Kings’ protests Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n
Our 69 News cameras were in Pottstown, Reading, Bethlehem Township and the city of Bethlehem as people spoke out against the Trump Administration and demanded change.<\/p>\n
“This administration is doing everything, everything, against the common values of humanity in terms of creating wars that are not necessary, what they’re doing with DHS policy and immigrant rights,” said Charles Corbit, an organizer of the Reading ‘No Kings’ protest.<\/p>\n
Carol Obando-Derstine attended the Bethlehem rally.<\/p>\n
“I’m a Latina immigrant from Columbia. I came here as a young child. My parents sacrificed everything for a shot at the American dream and right now, it’s feeling like Trump is making it like its a crime to be Latino in America,” Obando-Derstine stated.<\/p>\n
Justine Garside brought her son Connor to ‘No Kings’ Bethlehem.<\/p>\n
“We disagree with a lot of things the Trump Administration is doing and we care about this country and the people who live in it,” Justine explained.<\/p>\n
In Northampton County, Michelle Salkin and Angela Trilli-Braun of Building Community Connections lifted their voices while using the event in Bethlehem Township as a way to collect food at a time when many are struggling with prices at the grocery store.<\/p>\n
“To date, we’ve collected over 1,700 lbs of food for Second Harvest. The way people have come together for this cause is absolutely incredible,” Salkin told 69 News.<\/p>\n
In response to the more than 3,000 ‘No Kings’ protests across the country, a White House spokesperson released the following:<\/p>\n
