The fairgrounds served as a regular taping site for what is now known as the WWE in the 1970s through the 1980s. Those matches were broadcast throughout the Northeast and introduced professional wrestling to a broader audience, the fair said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cProfessional wrestling has deep roots at the Allentown Fairgrounds,\u201d Jessica Ciecwisz, the fair\u2019s marketing and entertainment manager, said in a news release. \u201cBringing wrestling back in 2026 allows us to honor that history while offering today\u2019s fans the chance to experience live professional wrestling in a setting that helped shape the sport.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This summer\u2019s event, titled \u201cStars, Stripes &amp; Slams,\u201d will be held Sept. 3 and will feature wrestlers such as The Good Brothers, N-ZO, Heath, Tito Santana and James Ellsworth.<\/p>\n<p>A meet and greet for fans will be held from 6-7 p.m. before the matches, which start at 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets go on sale 10 a.m. Friday.\u00a0 The fair, now in its 174th year, will be held from Sept. 2-7 at the Allentown Fairgrounds.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcall.com\/2026\/04\/01\/warren-zeiders-allentown-fair\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The first headliner, country musician Warren Zeiders, was announced Wednesday.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Professional wrestling returns to the Lehigh Valley this summer as part of the Allentown Fair.
