BETHLEHEM, Pa. \u2013 After more than 30 years, a destination for Burrito Supremes, Nachos Bell Grande and Mexican pizzas has a new, modernized home in Lehigh County.<\/p>\n
A newly rebuilt location of Taco Bell \u2013 the quick-service chain known for its made-to-order tacos, burritos and other Mexican-inspired dishes – held its grand opening on Wednesday at 2113 MacArthur Road in Whitehall Township.<\/p>\n

The Whitehall Taco Bell\u2019s original restaurant, which opened in 1994, was razed a few months ago, and an entirely new building was constructed at the same site, according to Deanna Lyons, the restaurant\u2019s general manager.<\/p>\n
The larger, state-of-the-art restaurant features \u201cnew everything,\u201d including state-of-the-art kitchen equipment, a lobby and dining room, Lyons added.<\/p>\n
New features include a dual drive-thru and covered outdoor dining patio.<\/p>\n
There\u2019s also more self-serve, digital ordering kiosks for a total of five, Lyons said.<\/p>\n
The newly constructed restaurant is open 9 a.m. to 3 a.m. daily, with the dining room closing at 10 p.m. daily, Lyons said.<\/p>\n

Drive-thru service continues and online orders can be picked up past 10 p.m.<\/p>\n
The Whitehall location is run by franchisee Summerwood Corporation, which also operates several other Taco Bell locations in the region.<\/p>\n
Summerwood, based in Conshohocken, Montgomery County, operates locations of four restaurant brands \u2013 Taco Bell, KFC, Pizza Hut and Long John Silver\u2019s \u2013 in six states.<\/p>\n
Last summer, the company opened a new Taco Bell eatery at 1620 E. Fourth St. in south Bethlehem, and in 2023, it opened other regional Taco Bell locations at 301 Cooper St., just off South Fourth Street, in Allentown; and 60 Plaza Drive in Rush Township, a few miles north of Tamaqua.<\/p>\n
Also in 2023, the company’s Taco Bell location at 3380 Lehigh St. in Salisbury Township reopened in a newly constructed building with upgraded features at the same site.<\/p>\n
Taco Bell, founded by Glen Bell in Downey, California in 1962, is a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, Inc., which also owns Pizza Hut and other popular restaurant chains.<\/p>\n

The chain serves made-to-order and customizable dishes, including crunchy and soft tacos, burritos, quesadillas and nachos.<\/p>\n
Other menu highlights include specialties such as a Mexican pizza, Crunchwrap Supreme and cheesy gordita crunch; and sides and sweets such as black beans and rice, cheesy fiesta potatoes and cinnamon twists.<\/p>\n
In 2024, Taco Bell reached a milestone of $1 billion in profit and also saw other success, growing digital sales by 32% and opening 347 new locations across 25 countries, bringing total restaurant locations to 8,757, according to a 2025 news release.<\/p>\n
