POTTSGROVE TWP., Pa. – A Berks County-based band is marking a milestone tonight.<\/p>\n
The Uptown Band is performing at Band-a-Palooza at Sunnybrook Ballroom in Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County.<\/p>\n
This is the band’s 20th anniversary.<\/p>\n
The Uptown Band has headlined hundreds of shows over the years, playing a mix of jazz, pop, rock, funk and R&B.<\/p>\n
69 News spoke with Uptown’s founder about keeping the band together for two decades.<\/p>\n
“Over the years you always go through players changing, but I think we have the best nucleus that we’ve ever had now. Most of the guys and gals have stayed with me a long time,” said Erich Cawalla.<\/p>\n
Two other bands performing on tonight’s bill are The Groovemasters and Vinyl Rush.<\/p>\n
