{"id":157340,"date":"2026-04-04T18:46:09","date_gmt":"2026-04-04T18:46:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/157340\/"},"modified":"2026-04-04T18:46:09","modified_gmt":"2026-04-04T18:46:09","slug":"plane-lands-on-pennsylvania-highway-due-to-engine-issues-faa-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/157340\/","title":{"rendered":"Plane lands on Pennsylvania highway due to \u2018engine issues,\u2019 FAA says"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">(WHTM) \u2014 A plane landed on a Pennsylvania highway Saturday morning due to \u201cengine issues,\u201d according to preliminary reporting from the Federal Aviation Administration.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">According to State Police in Bethlehem, a Rockwell Commander plane, occupied by a 65-year-old male pilot from Michigan and a 34-year-old female passenger from New Jersey, departed from Solberg, New Jersey, and attempted to fly to Indiana at around 9:19 a.m. on April 4.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Troopers say while en route, the operator reported \u201cunknown engine problems\u201d and attempted to fly to a nearby airport, but was unsuccessful.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The plane, Troopers said, landed on I-78 Eastbound at mile marker 45.6 in Weisenberg Township, Lehigh County. Traffic was reopened at 1 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Federal Aviation Administration is currently investigating the landing, along with Pennsylvania State Police.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">This is a developing story.
