The Erie SeaWolves are putting the final touches on UPMC Park as they prepare to host the Richmond Flying Squirrels for their home opener, and fans say the anticipation feels as strong as ever.<\/p>\n
Supporters across the region have been counting down to Opening Day since last fall. For many, it\u2019s a tradition they refuse to miss. For others, this year will mark their first Opening Day \u2014 or even their first SeaWolves game.<\/p>\n
Longtime fans say the excitement never fades, no matter how many seasons they\u2019ve been coming.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn a scale of one to 10, the excitement is always a 10,\u201d said John Wisniewski, a season ticket holder for the past decade. \u201cAs long as the weather cooperates, it\u2019s like Christmas morning. Baseball is my first love. There\u2019s no better Opening Day than baseball season.\u201d<\/p>\n
The team is also rolling out a couple of new food options for the 2026 season. Fans can expect upgraded personal cheese and pepperoni pizzas, along with snacks under $10 such as chips and salsa and soft pretzels with nacho cheese.<\/p>\n
Merchandise is another highlight heading into the opener. The team store is stocked with new collections, including the Moon Mammoth line and the Flagship City Kitties gear \u2014 a special edition celebrating the SeaWolves\u2019 25th year as an affiliate of the Detroit Tigers.<\/p>\n
With preparations underway and fan excitement building, the SeaWolves hope the energy surrounding Opening Day sets the tone for a strong season ahead.<\/p>\n
