Free but registration required.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday, 10 to noon: Volunteer Open House, Heritage Center.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday, 10 to 3: Open House at the Beidler House in Allegheny Aqueduct Park, Gibraltar. Free.<\/p>\n<p>April 14, 10 a.m.: Trail Tales at Bingaman House, Lower Alsace Township. A nature topic partnered with a story and a craft geared toward children ages 3-5. Free but registration required.<\/p>\n<p>April 18, 10 to 3: History Day and Heritage Center Opening. Join the Berks Heritage Council and its historical site members for a day of learning. Rain or shine. Free.<\/p>\n<p>April 25, 10 to 2: Healthy Kids Day, Heritage Center. Free. Jamie Barton is holding a Farmer Appreciation Breakfast and Blessing of the Balers on April 21 at Kutztown Grange Hall. The blessing will take place at 8:30 a.m., with breakfast to follow. Performances will be Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2. Admission is $10 in advance. Limited tickets will be available at the door on the day of the performance for $12. See <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cwtheatreco.org\/ffa-food-drive\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">www.cwtheatreco.org\/ffa-food-drive<\/a> for details.<\/p>\n<p>Pet vaccine clinic<\/p>\n<p>The Animal Rescue League of Berks County, in partnership with Wyomissing borough, will host a low-cost vaccine clinic for dogs and cats April 9 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Wyomissing Fire Department, 1259 Penn Ave. The clinic will provide essential preventive care services, including rabies vaccinations, additional core vaccines and microchipping for pets. Fiction is organized alphabetically by author. There are children\u2019s and juvenile books, history, biography, how-to, travel, gardening, cookbooks, movies, puzzles and games. Vegetable plants, annuals, hanging baskets and baked goods will also be for sale.<\/p>\n<p>The library is above Redner\u2019s in Bernville; enter from Fox Street. More info, 610-488-1302.<\/p>\n<p>Chicken BBQ<\/p>\n<p>Orders must be placed before Friday for a chicken barbecue fundraiser supporting the Northeast Alumni Association. The $12 cost includes a half chicken, baked potato, applesauce and a roll. Pick-up meals only on April 17 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in front of Northeast Middle School, 1216 N. 13th St. Email orders to nealumniassociation@gmail.com.<\/p>\n<p>The association supports programs, awards, teacher stipends and distinguished alumni.<\/p>\n<p>Breakfast fundraiser<\/p>\n<p>The local Lutheran Disaster Response Network is sponsoring an all-you-can-eat breakfast fundraiser Saturday from 7 to 10 a.m. at Swamp Lutheran Church, 275 Swamp Church Road, Reinholds. The by-donation breakfast will assist 40 volunteers with housing and food costs, as well the purchase of materials for rebuilding when the group heads to western North Carolina for a week to help with reconstruction efforts due to the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Yard\/gym sale<\/p>\n<p>Reading SDA Junior Academy is holding a yard\/gym sale Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the school, 309 N. Kenhorst Blvd. The event will be held rain or shine.<\/p>\n<p>Dreibelbis Farm<\/p>\n<p>Historic Dreibelbis Farm near Virginville is holding two events in April.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday at 7 p.m., there will be a Spring Peeper Walk at the Vernal Pool in the farm\u2019s wetlands area near the Maiden Creek. Guide Amy Langman will introduce the real stars of the evening \u2014 tiny singing frogs called spring peepers. Wear waterproof boots.<\/p>\n<p>On April 25 from 11 to 4, the farm will celebrate Native American culture in an event held in conjunction with Hawk Mountain Chapter 31 of the Society for Pennsylvania Archaeology and members or associates of the Lenape Nation. The farm is on the site of the largest American Indian settlement in eastern Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n<p>This outdoor event will feature history, storytelling, Native American flute music, crafts, education and demonstration activities and displays of ancient Indian artifacts. Visitors should bring a chair.<\/p>\n<p>Both events are free to the public and will be held even if light showers are in our area. Parking is on-site and monetary donations will be accepted. The farm is located on Route 143. The event will take place on June 6 at Classic Harley-Davidson in Bern Township and will feature entertainment, friendly competition and community connection.<\/p>\n<p>Centered around a cornhole tournament, Toss for a Cause includes music, a kids zone, food trucks, a car and bike show, exclusive World War II Weekend seating and more. The cost to participate in cornhole is $30 per player, $60 per team. Registration begins at 10 a.m., with play starting at 11.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, sponsorship opportunities, or to register for the tournament, contact Alec Reinert at 484-628-7850 or Alec.Reinert@towerhealth.org<\/p>\n<p>Young Ambassadors<\/p>\n<p>PennDOT and Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful are inviting environmentally-conscious 10th- through 12th-grade students to apply for the Young Ambassadors of Pennsylvania program (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.keeppabeautiful.org\/programs\/education\/young-ambassadors-of-pennsylvania\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">www.keeppabeautiful.org\/programs\/education\/young-ambassadors-of-pennsylvania\/<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>The program empowers young Pennsylvanians to train and learn from leaders across the private sector, state government, local media and Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful.<\/p>\n<p>Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful will provide education and training to program participants on topics related to the impact of litter on roadways, litter prevention, waste management and recycling, civic engagement and public policy, volunteer management and social media marketing. Ambassadors will serve from September through May.<\/p>\n<p>The application deadline is June 10.
