PLYMOUTH, N.C. (WITN) – A Plymouth man pleaded guilty to a murder-for-hire plot involving his former business partner in Pennsylvania. <\/p>\n
United States Attorney David Metcalf for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania says 48-year-old Xin Guang Guo pleaded guilty to two counts of using interstate commerce facilities in the commission of a murder-for-hire. <\/p>\n
Guo was arrested and indicted last October after the D.A. said he wanted to pay a hitman $30,000 to kill two people in the Philadelphia area. <\/p>\n
A release says that in September 2025, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives learned that Guo was looking to hire the hitman to murder his former business partner and his former business partner\u2019s significant other. <\/p>\n
Text messages recovered by investigators detailed Guo\u2019s plan and information about the two individuals. <\/p>\n
In calls monitored by the ATF, Guo talked about the terms of the contract, saying he would pay $15,000 for each murder.<\/p>\n
The D.A.\u2019s office says Guo had also arranged a meeting in October with the person he thought was the hitman so he could give him money to buy a gun. <\/p>\n
During the meeting, investigators say Guo gave the money to an undercover ATF officer.<\/p>\n
Guo requested photographic evidence of the murders before paying the remaining balance, according to the D.A.<\/p>\n
Shortly after the agreement was made, ATF officers arrested Guo.<\/p>\n
Guo is scheduled to be sentenced on July 15th and faces a possible 20 years maximum in prison. <\/p>\n
