Organizers and demonstrators in Philadelphia have called for an emergency anti-war protest at City Hall tonight, following a barrage of threats against Iran<\/a> posted online by U.S. President Donald Trump<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The tipping point? An April 7 warning that “a whole civilization will die tonight.”<\/p>\n

Philly Solidarity Calendar, an online forum for grassroots events, teach-ins and demonstrations in the Philadelphia area published a call to protest Tuesday afternoon via Instagram organized by Workers World Party Philadelphia and MontCo for Palestine.<\/p>\n

“A threat to wipeout civilians in Iran is a threat to the whole world[.] Stop the U.S. War Machine!” the flyer reads.<\/p>\n

The emergency protest is scheduled for 7 p.m. in front of City Hall.<\/p>\n

The president has been vocal, and explicit, online when referencing the war in Iran.<\/p>\n

On Easter Sunday, Trump posted the following threats: “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. … There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F***in\u2019 Strait, you crazy bastards, or you\u2019ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah.”<\/p>\n

The president had given Tehran until 8 p.m. on Tuesday<\/a> to open the Strait of Hormuz. The administration has not said what would happen at 8 p.m.<\/p>\n
