BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Bethlehem’s Planning Commission will review a proposal for 24 homes at a former church in the Kaywin neighborhood, near the Westgate Mall.<\/p>\n

Church of the Manger at 1411 Greenview Drive held its last service in October, according to the church’s Facebook page, and joined St. Thomas UCC at 902 E. Macada Rd. in Bethlehem.<\/p>\n

Plans for the site<\/a> show the same layout<\/a> proposed earlier this year: three blocks of four townhouses on each side of the development, or 12 total on each side. There will be 48 parking spaces, or two per home.<\/p>\n

The footprint of the housing roughly matches the church’s current layout. On each side, plans show a “vegetative buffer.”<\/p>\n

The 24 units are in a neighborhood known as Kaywin, roughly between Schoenersville Road and Route 378, south of Catasauqua Road and the Westgate Mall.<\/p>\n

The Planning Commission will meet Thursday at 5 p.m. in Town Hall. The meeting will also be broadcast on the Internet.<\/p>\n
