A Throop man faces a felony drug charge after police say they found multiple types of illegal drugs and packaging material at his residence.<\/p>\n
Justin Williams, 37, of 107 Bellman St., is charged with possession with attempt to deliver narcotics, possession of paraphernalia and related charges.<\/p>\n
According to the criminal complaint:<\/p>\n
On April 1, Throop police officers pulled over a vehicle that had been idling near the Bellman Street residence for some time.<\/p>\n
Officers found the front-seat passenger to be in possession of a pipe containing a white substance.<\/p>\n
During a search of the vehicle later that day, officers found multiple types of drugs, paraphernalia and other drug-related items, including crack cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana, Xanax and clonazepam.<\/p>\n
Following numerus neighbor complaints, officers came to believe the residence may be the site of illegal narcotic distribution.<\/p>\n
Because garbage pickup was scheduled for the morning of April 2, officers collected trash from behind the residence with the help of the Department of Public Works.<\/p>\n
Officers found numerous items of paraphernalia in the trash bags, including two glass pipes and baggies commonly used for drug distribution.<\/p>\n
At 6 p.m. on April 2, officers from Throop, Dickson City, Dunmore and Carbondale police departments executed a search warrant at the residence, seizing a total of about\u00a0 7.5 grams of methamphetamine, nine clonazepam tablets, a small amount of marijuana wax and a vial of testosterone, along with three digital scales and packaging material.<\/p>\n
The methamphetamine was packaged in individual baggies, each containing 1 gram of the illegal drug.<\/p>\n
Williams, who was not home at the time of the search, was identified as the sole occupant of the residence.<\/p>\n
Just after midnight, on April 3, Dickson City police spotted Williams outside the Microtel on Main Street.<\/p>\n
Officers arrested Williams and transported him to the Throop police station.<\/p>\n
During an interview, Williams admitted to owning the contraband seized during the search of his residence.<\/p>\n
A search of his cellphone showed multiple conversations related to the sale of narcotics.<\/p>\n
Williams remains at Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.<\/p>\n
