All the excitement and title-winning celebrations concluded late Friday night, and the focus shifted shortly thereafter to the next goal of the 2025 season.<\/p>\n
North Pocono won a thrilling game against Scranton Prep, 24-21, to conclude an undefeated regular season and hoist the Lackawanna Football Conference Division I plaque. Lakeland used a late surge to beat a gritty Mid Valley group, 28-14, to win the Division II title. Lackawanna Trail dominated Riverside, 40-14, and won a third straight Division III championship.<\/p>\n
All three LFC division winners are also the top seeds for their respective District 2 playoffs, which start Friday.<\/p>\n
Nothing is official until the District 2 committee stamps the final outline, but the matchups appear set.<\/p>\n
North Pocono (10-0) is the No. 1 seed and will host No. 4 Crestwood (5-5) in one semifinal. Second-seeded Valley View (6-4), the defending champion, will host third-seeded Dallas (5-5) in a rematch of last season\u2019s Class 4A final.<\/p>\n
Lakeland earned the top seed in Class 2A and will host No. 4 Holy Redeemer (2-8). Riverside (8-2) is the No. 2 seed and defending champion and will host No. 3 Dunmore (7-3). The two rivals have played in the District 2 Class 2A final in each of the last two seasons, and Riverside won their Week 1 meeting, 17-14, in overtime.<\/p>\n
In the District 2-11 Class 1A subregional playoffs, Lackawanna Trail (9-1) is the No. 1 seed and the defending champion. The Lions will host No. 4 Nativity BVM (4-6), which grabbed the No. 4 seed when Holy Cross withdrew from consideration for the subregional. No. 3 Tri-Valley (6-4) earned a rematch with No. 2 Marian Catholic (7-3) in the other semifinal. The two District 11 programs played in Week 2, with Marian Catholic winning, 17-14.<\/p>\n
Abington Heights (8-2) celebrated the return of quarterback Nick Bradley with a win over Hazleton Area. That win, combined with Pittston Area\u2019s loss to Wyoming Area, gave the No. 1 seed to the Comets, who are the defending champions. They will host No. 4 Wyoming Valley West (1-9), which held off West Scranton (2-8) for the final spot.<\/p>\n
No. 3 Delaware Valley (5-5) will be at No. 2 Pittston Area (8-2) in the other semifinal.<\/p>\n
In Class 3A, which grabbed the spotlight in Week 8 when the field was reduced from eight qualifiers to four, Berwick (10-0) held the No. 1 seed and will host Hanover Area (6-4). The Bulldogs won the regular-season meeting, 56-19, in Week 5.<\/p>\n
Wyoming Area (9-1) is the No. 2 seed and will host No. 3 Scranton Prep (5-5), the defending champion. Scranton Prep has four straight championships in the classification.<\/p>\n
Wilkes-Barre Area (6-4), last year\u2019s champion, is the No. 1 seed for the District 2-4 Class 6A playoffs. The Wolfpack will host No. 4 Hazleton Area (1-9). Scranton (2-8) is the No. 3 seed and plays at No. 2 Williamsport (4-5).<\/p>\n
