ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Police in Allentown are seeking a driver who they say hit a pedestrian then fled the scene.<\/p>\n
Patrol officers and paramedics for the City of Allentown responded to American Parkway and Gordon Street for report of a hit-and-run accident involving a pedestrian Friday at 3:40 a.m., according to a news release from the Allentown Police Department.<\/p>\n
Responding officers and medics found an unidentified male lying in the roadway, unresponsive and suffering from multiple traumatic injuries, city police said.<\/p>\n
The male was transported by Allentown EMS to a local area hospital for treatment of those injuries, where he remains hospitalized in critical, but stable condition, according to city police. Police said the victim is expected to survive.<\/p>\n
According to police, the vehicle that struck the victim fled the scene immediately after the collision.<\/p>\n
A review of city cameras in the area shows a dark in color sedan striking the victim as he crossed American Parkway at the Gordon Street intersection, according to the news release.<\/p>\n
The driver continued south on American Parkway following the crash, police said.<\/p>\n
The Allentown Police Department- Traffic Safety Unit, and the Lehigh County District Attorney\u2019s Office are investigating the incident.<\/p>\n
