{"id":162551,"date":"2026-04-10T17:42:10","date_gmt":"2026-04-10T17:42:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/162551\/"},"modified":"2026-04-10T17:42:10","modified_gmt":"2026-04-10T17:42:10","slug":"crash-arrest-and-fraud-reports-mark-busy-day-in-wyomissing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/162551\/","title":{"rendered":"Crash, Arrest, And Fraud Reports Mark Busy Day in Wyomissing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WYOMISSING, PA \u2014 Police responded to more than 30 incidents across the borough on April 8, including a crash with injuries, an arrest at a hotel, and multiple reports of theft, fraud, and suspicious activity, according to the Wyomissing Police Department.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after midnight, officers conducted multiple traffic stops along Penn Avenue and State Hill Road, issuing citations and warnings for vehicle and lighting violations, police reported.<\/p>\n<p>At approximately 1:16 a.m. and 1:18 a.m., officers responded to burglar alarms on Berkshire Boulevard and Ridgewood Road. Police reported one alarm was canceled by a keyholder and the other was determined to be false after the property was checked and found secure.<\/p>\n<p>At 1:39 a.m., officers investigated a suspicious vehicle on Woodland Road. According to police, the occupant was identified and no further action was taken.<\/p>\n<p>Later in the morning, at 5:59 a.m., police responded to Berkshire Boulevard for a tractor-trailer stopped in traffic. Authorities said the driver moved the vehicle into a nearby parking lot without further issue.<\/p>\n<p>At 7:00 a.m., officers handled a parking complaint on Park Road North. Police reported the vehicle owner corrected the issue after contact was made.<\/p>\n<p>At approximately 7:24 a.m., officers responded to a burglar alarm on Park Road North, which police said was triggered accidentally by an employee arriving for work.<\/p>\n<p>At 7:29 a.m., police were dispatched to Meadow Glen for a reported possible burglary. According to investigators, no signs of criminal activity were found.<\/p>\n<p>At 9:05 a.m., officers responded to a crash at Reading Boulevard and Wyomissing Boulevard. Police reported one person was transported to a hospital and both vehicles were towed.<\/p>\n<p>A second crash was reported at approximately 9:53 a.m. on Route 422 near North Wyomissing Boulevard. Police said no injuries were reported and no vehicles required towing.<\/p>\n<p>At 10:17 a.m., officers conducted a security check on Cleveland Avenue after a report of an open door. Police reported the garage door was secured and no suspicious activity was found.<\/p>\n<p>At 11:27 a.m., a complainant reported receiving threatening text messages from a former employee on Tulpehocken Road. Police documented the report.<\/p>\n<p>At approximately noon, officers responded to a retail theft on State Hill Road involving about $90 in merchandise. According to police, information was gathered and the investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the afternoon, additional traffic stops were conducted, with warnings issued for violations, police said.<\/p>\n<p>At 3:27 p.m., officers responded to Berkshire Boulevard for a report of disorderly conduct involving two individuals arguing over alleged vehicle damage. Police reported both parties were separated and no further action was taken.<\/p>\n<p>At 4:37 p.m., officers investigated a report of a wanted person on Spring Street. Police reported the individual was not located.<\/p>\n<p>At 5:55 p.m., a walk-in fraud report was taken on Reading Boulevard. Police reported information was collected for follow-up.<\/p>\n<p>At 5:57 p.m., officers responded to a fire alarm on Warwick Drive. Authorities said the Wyomissing Fire Department handled the incident.<\/p>\n<p>At approximately 7:00 p.m., a grass fire was reported on the Warren Street Bypass near Crossing Drive. Police said the fire was quickly extinguished by responding crews.<\/p>\n<p>At 7:16 p.m., officers responded to a retail-related civil matter on Penn Avenue involving items valued at $11.36. Police reported the store chose to handle the matter privately.<\/p>\n<p>At 8:45 p.m., officers responded to Woodland Road for a report of a disorderly female who allegedly refused to pay or leave a hotel. Police reported the individual was taken into custody and transported to a processing center.<\/p>\n<p>Later that evening, at 9:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance on Woodland Road.
