Turnpike I-476 crash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An Allentown woman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcall.com\/2025\/04\/10\/wrong-way-crash-on-pa-turnpike-i-476-in-lehigh-county-that-killed-man-still-under-investigation\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">who authorities said was driving the wrong way on the Pennsylvania Turnpike Northeast Extension<\/a> in Washington Township, Lehigh County, last year is facing homicide by vehicle while DUI and other charges in a crash that killed a motorcyclist.<\/p>\n<p>State police said Onanyeli Rosario-Mesa, 25, was in an SUV driving southbound in the northbound lanes of Interstate 476 near mile marker 67 around 9 a.m. on March 30, 2025, when she ran into a group of five motorcyclists traveling the opposite direction.<\/p>\n<p>John Sweeney, 50, of Bristol, Bucks County, was killed and a 24-year man, also from Bristol, was injured.<\/p>\n<p>Police said several witnesses and video surveillance footage showed Rosario-Mesa\u2019s vehicle driving southbound in the northbound lanes, passing several vehicles that pulled to the side of the road to avoid her.<\/p>\n<p>The Lehigh County District Attorney\u2019s Office said Friday that Rosario-Mesa was charged with homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence; homicide by vehicle; involuntary manslaughter; recklessly endangering another person; DUI\/unsafe driving; careless driving \u2014 unintentional death; and driving on one-way roadway.<\/p>\n<p>Rosario-Mesa had a blood alcohol content between 0.10% and 0.16%, authorities said. In Pennsylvania, the legal BAC limit is 0.08%.<\/p>\n<p>The DA\u2019s office said an arrest warrant has been filed for Rosario-Mesa, but she remains at large. Anyone with information about her is asked to call 911.<\/p>\n<p>The charges were filed April 1.
