LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) \u2014 A Central Pennsylvania nursing home lost more than $100,000 in an email hack, and investigators said they were able to trace the stolen funds back to two men.<\/p>\n
Manheim Township police said in charging documents that 59-year-old Shawn Martin, of Colorado, and 36-year-old Sandro Dzigoshvili, of New York, scammed Trillium Place by Tandem Living Nursing Home out of $113,869.50.<\/p>\n
The investigation began after the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer met with police on Dec. 17 to report fraudulent activity.<\/p>\n
Man accused of stealing Labradoodle puppies from Lancaster County farm <\/a><\/p>\n The nursing home, located along Harrisburg Pike in Manheim Township, was working with another company to have a boiler replaced and it became apparent that an email from the company was hacked, police said. Someone posed as an employee and added a fake email.<\/p>\n Police said the money was sent to a fraudulent company called JSM Properties in Parker, Colorado, which was later discovered to be owned by Martin when investigators searched the Colorado Department of State\u2019s website.<\/p>\n Bank records also showed Martin was the owner of JSM Properties and there were large transfers from the company\u2019s account to Martin\u2019s personal one and Dzigoshvili\u2019s account, charging documents said.<\/p>\n Dzigoshvili and Martin face felony charges of theft by deception, conspiracy and dealing in proceeds of unlawful activities.<\/p>\n
