A Pennsylvania couple rang in the opening of the first Buc-ee\u2019s location in Ohio<\/a> with a ring of their own. On Monday, April 6, Pittsburgh residents Cherlyn Beatty and Jason Schmitt got engaged at the Buc-ee\u2019s store in Huber Heights, Ohio, just hours after the grand opening.<\/p>\n

According to WTOL-Toledo, <\/a>the couple says they first fell in love while spending time together at a local gas station. The two worked at a haunted house attraction together for years, but would hang out at a local Sheetz gas station when the shift was over.<\/p>\n

Over the years, the couple began taking trips to visit Buc-ee\u2019s locations throughout the U.S. where they \u201cfell in love with the brand,\u201d according to Schmitt. When it was time to propose, he knew exactly where to do it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been hiding the ring for a few weeks now,\u201d Schmitt said. \u201cI knew I had to propose then and there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Beatty said she had a feeling a proposal was coming, but had no idea it would happen at Buc-ee\u2019s.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m just so happy I didn\u2019t eat it,\u201d Beatty said. \u201cI\u2019m so happy you didn\u2019t put it in a Beaver Nugget.\u201d<\/p>\n

While the couple isn\u2019t sure if the Buc-ee\u2019s mascot will make an appearance at the wedding, they wouldn\u2019t rule it out either.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re suckers for capitalism,\u201d Beatty said. \u201cAnything with the Buc-ee\u2019s logo.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the meantime, the couple plans to adopt a cat and name it Buc-ee in honor of the company, Fox-8 reports.<\/a><\/p>\n

Thousands of people visited the gas station for the grand opening, which has been anticipated for months. The opening is part of ongoing expansion efforts<\/a> by the brand.<\/p>\n

Buc-ee\u2019s is known for offering brisket sandwiches, breakfast tacos, kolaches, BBQ, cookies, fudge, pastries, specialty snack items, and Buc-ee\u2019s branded drinks and snacks such as fountain soda, jerky and Beaver Nuggets (sweet corn puff snacks).<\/p>\n

Buc-ee\u2019s locations typically feature several dozen gas pumps, and hundreds of parking spots. Each store is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and does not close for holidays.<\/p>\n
