\n\t\t\t\t\t\tA call to a building in Pittsburgh’s Knoxville neighborhood led to a Pittsburgh police detective being bitten by a dog and at least one person being taken into custody on Saturday. Pittsburgh Public Safety officials said authorities were called to the 100 block of Knox Avenue just before 4 p.m. regarding a complaint from the building’s owner.While there, detectives encountered an adult man with an outstanding warrant. The man attempted to run from police on foot from inside the building. During the pursuit, police said a dog from the apartment the suspect ran from attacked officers. A detective was bitten on his arm and sustained multiple wounds. In response, officers shot at the dog, which was later pronounced dead on the scene. The detective was taken to the hospital in stable condition. The suspect was later taken into custody and taken to the Allegheny County Jail.
