{"id":163475,"date":"2026-04-11T23:25:08","date_gmt":"2026-04-11T23:25:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/163475\/"},"modified":"2026-04-11T23:25:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-11T23:25:08","slug":"whitehall-high-school-community-run-raises-2500-dollars-for-heifer-international-charity-allentown-area","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/163475\/","title":{"rendered":"Whitehall high school community run raises 2,500 dollars for Heifer International charity | Allentown Area"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WHITEHALL, Pa. &#8211; People laced up their sneakers on Saturday for a good cause.<\/p>\n<p>They hit the track at Whitehall High School for its two-mile Community Run and Walk for charity.<\/p>\n<p>The event was organized by a senior student from the school&#8217;s Interact Club.<\/p>\n<p>All proceeds benefit Heifer International, a nonprofit that works to end hunger worldwide by providing livestock and agricultural resources to families in need.<\/p>\n<p>This is the first year for the event.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There&#8217;s been times where it&#8217;s like, you know, you don&#8217;t know if it&#8217;s gonna be successful or not, especially at this earlier start but it ended up going great,&#8221; said Habib Leyos, the organizer of the event.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He says they raised more than 2,500 dollars on Saturday and they hope to bring the event back for years to come.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"WHITEHALL, Pa. &#8211; People laced up their sneakers on Saturday for a good cause.
