{"id":163561,"date":"2026-04-12T02:10:11","date_gmt":"2026-04-12T02:10:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/163561\/"},"modified":"2026-04-12T02:10:11","modified_gmt":"2026-04-12T02:10:11","slug":"man-crashes-vehicle-while-bringing-shooting-victim-to-hospital-in-western-pennsylvania-state-police-wpxi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/163561\/","title":{"rendered":"Man crashes vehicle while bringing shooting victim to hospital in Western Pennsylvania: state police \u2013 WPXI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">State police are investigating a shooting and related DUI crash in Western Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">According to a release, troopers were called to investigate a shooting in a restaurant parking lot, located in the 90 block of Lulay Street in Geistown, Cambria County.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Meanwhile, troopers were also notified of a single-vehicle crash at Ruby and Penrod streets in Stoneycreek Township that was related to the shooting.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">PSP says that a 21-year-old man from Johnstown was in the Tulunes parking lot when he was shot in his lower back.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">A 22-year-old man, also from Johnstown and an \u201cacquaintance\u201d of the victim, tried to drive him to the hospital in a 2018 Kia Forte.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">However, the vehicle crashed into a residential retaining wall and was unable to move. It was later towed from the scene. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">After the crash, the victim was taken to an area hospital, where he was last listed in stable condition. He is expected to survive.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">The driver was arrested for suspicion of alcohol-related DUI and drug possession, PSP says.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Police searched the area for witnesses but couldn\u2019t find evidence or surveillance video.
