Marywood University

Clarks Summit native Michael Bugno is chairing the upcoming \u201cCelebrate Marywood\u201d event at the university, which will honor Virginia Doherty McGregor, Scranton, and the Rev. Thomas M. Muldowney, Moscow. The festive annual celebration, set for May 7, will take place outdoors at the Motherhouse and Seminary Morgan Memorial Garden in the heart of the university\u2019s campus.<\/p>\n

Bugno is an accomplished experiential leader specializing in client programming, global events and integrated marketing experiences that strengthen relationships and bring brands to life. He has more than 25 years of experience planning and executing corporate trade shows and global events for organizations ranging from midsized businesses to Fortune 50 companies.<\/p>\n

Currently, he serves as vice president, experiential client programming at Fiserv, a global financial technology company based in New York City. Prior to Fiserv, Bugno held leadership roles at Lectra, Food Network and Comedy Central.<\/p>\n

Bugno graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in theater arts administration from Marywood University and has maintained a long-standing relationship with the university. He received the Marywood Alumni Association Recent Graduate Award in 2004 and served as a trustee from 2006 to 2015 before returning to the board in 2019. He currently serves as vice chair of the board of trustees.<\/p>\n

Peoples Security Bank & Trust

The bank announced that Lacey McEachern has joined the organization as AVP, talent management partner, within the bank\u2019s human resources department.<\/p>\n

In this role, McEachern will support the full employee life cycle, partnering with hiring leaders across the organization to attract, develop and retain top talent. She will oversee the full-cycle recruitment process and collaborate with leadership on workforce and succession planning. McEachern will also contribute to onboarding design, employee engagement initiatives, policy development and employer branding efforts to help ensure a consistent and high-quality employee experience aligned with PSBT\u2019s strategic goals.<\/p>\n

McEachern has more than 10 years of human resources experience across talent acquisition, employee experience, onboarding and organizational culture.<\/p>\n

McEachern earned her degree in communications, graduating summa cum laude from Howard University. She is also a trained professional coach through the Co-Active Training Institute. Originally from Silver Spring, Maryland, she currently resides in Olyphant.<\/p>\n

Tobyhanna Army Depot

The depot has named its employees of the quarter for the first quarter of FY26. Pasco Tomaino, a resident of Peckville, and Janice Lyons, a resident of Archbald, were honored for their proactivity and dedication to making the depot a more efficient readiness provider for our nation\u2019s heroes.<\/p>\n

Tomaino, an engineering technician, was named the depot\u2019s employee of the quarter, senior category, for his work in the depot\u2019s Division of Public Works\u2019 engineering branch.<\/p>\n

Management Assistant Lyons, junior category, has earned her employee of the quarter recognition for the critical role she played in ensuring a smooth transition through recent reorganizations of the Mission Execution Directorate that improved effectiveness and productivity.<\/p>\n

University of Scranton
\n\"WeiDongWeiDong Zhu, University of Scranton (SUBMITTED)<\/p>\n

WeiDong Zhu, Ph.D., has been named provost and senior vice president for academic affairs, effective July 2026.<\/p>\n

Working closely with deans and faculty, the provost helps guide the development of curricula and directs academic programming across the university\u2019s three colleges. The provost is responsible for providing leadership and oversight for the academic division\u2019s budget; undergraduate and graduate programs; teaching and research activities; the university\u2019s library, and the faculty.<\/p>\n

Zhu comes to Scranton from St. Peter\u2019s University, a Jesuit sister institution in New Jersey, where he has served in numerous academic leadership roles since being hired in 2007. He is currently the interim vice president for academic affairs at St. Peter\u2019s.<\/p>\n

Zhu earned a Bachelor of Science in physics and education and a Master of Engineering in material science and engineering from Soochow University in China. He also holds a Ph.D. in physics from the Stevens Institute of Technology.
