BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA \u2014 The Bensalem Township Police Department is investigating a recent incident at the Cornwells Elementary School, officials said.<\/p>\n
Interim Schools Superintendent Victoria Velazquez sent an email to Cornwells Elementary School families to inform them about a recently reported incident within the school community.<\/p>\n
“The matter is being taken very seriously and is being reviewed in accordance with district policies and procedures, and is being investigated by the Bensalem Township Police Department,” Velazquez said.<\/p>\n
The superintendent said school officials were unable to share specific details, but wanted to reassure families that the appropriate protocols are being followed during the investigation.<\/p>\n
“When responding to situations that occur, we are working closely with a variety of supports to ensure a thorough and thoughtful response,” the superintendent said. “These supports can include, but are not limited to: principals, school counselors, social workers, Care Solace services, School Resource Officers, and district office support if needed. Our priority remains the safety, well-being, and support of all students.”<\/p>\n
