{"id":164614,"date":"2026-04-13T16:48:08","date_gmt":"2026-04-13T16:48:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/164614\/"},"modified":"2026-04-13T16:48:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-13T16:48:08","slug":"more-roads-are-now-closed-ahead-of-nfl-draft","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/164614\/","title":{"rendered":"More Roads Are Now Closed Ahead of NFL Draft"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/vactraffic.jpg\" data-lb-width=\"1000\" data-lb-height=\"667\" class=\" photoswipe gtxlightbox\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-219638\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/vactraffic.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">PHOTO BY KRISTY GRAVER<\/p>\n<p>As the 2026 NFL Draft draws near, drivers may be seeing more and more road closures.<\/p>\n<p>The Pittsburgh Local organizing committee, in partnership with PennDOT, Allegheny County, the City of Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh Regional Transit, announced its second phase of road closures ahead of the monumental event.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>From April 13-April 21, drivers will not be able to access the following roads:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Casino Drive (from Sproat Way)\u00a0<br \/>\nNorth Short Drive (to Chuck Noll Way)\u00a0<br \/>\nReedsdale Street (to Tony Dorsett Drive)\u00a0<br \/>\nChuck Noll Way<br \/>\nTony Dorsett Drive<br \/>\nI-279 Southbound Exit 1B ramp to Reedsdale Street<br \/>\nReedsdale Underpass<\/p>\n<p>These closures are in addition to the previous closures announced as part of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitpittsburgh.com\/nfl-draft-pittsburgh\/nfl-draft-central\/nfl-draft-pittsburgh-transportation-guide\/nfl-draft-road-closures-traffic-changes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Phase One<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>City officials say these restrictions are necessary to support event infrastructure, enhance public safety and create \u201ca seamless fan experience\u201d across the Draft footprint as preparations accelerate for the largest sporting event the city has ever hosted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHosting the NFL Draft is a once-in-a-generation opportunity for Pittsburgh, and we\u2019re committed to ensuring both residents and visitors can experience it with ease,\u201d Jerad Bachar, President and CEO of VisitPITTSBURGH, says in a statement.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>VisitPITTSBURGH has also been pushing hard for residents and visitors alike to embrace the city\u2019s public transit when headed to the Draft;
