Beginning May 1 Asbury Woods will begin a series of improvements during the spring season. The improvements will allow for more accessibility, sustainability, and improve the overall experience for visitors.<\/p>\n

The Greenway Trail will be temporarily closed on May 1 in order to begin upgrades. Around 280 feet of aging boardwalk will be replaced. The replacement project is expected to be completed in early June.<\/p>\n

This project is funded through the Recreation Program Grant through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development as well as the Trails & Greenways Grant from Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority.<\/p>\n

To allow for time and funding to be allocated to core mission work, two residential structures will be demolished starting in mid-April.<\/p>\n

5630 Old Sterrettania Road and 5776 Sterettania Road are two aging structures that had been acquired during previous land purchases. Konzel Construction will be carrying out the demolition work. At this time, it is undetermined how long the demolition will take.<\/p>\n

The properties will still be utilized in reimagined ways for public usage. The organization plans to focus on sustainability, accessibility, and will be available to the public.<\/p>\n

5630 Old Sterrettania Road will see new life as the future home of Wesmiller Way which will be a new trail system that will allow for easier access to Buttermilk Falls.<\/p>\n

More information about these demolition projects will be provided at a later date by the organization.<\/p>\n
