EMTA has updated their fare collection to a digital upgraded system for regular Fixed Routes. The app Token Transit will update pass checks to scan QR codes for riders instead of the previous Bluetooth system. The QR codes will be located at the front of the bus on the right-hand side.<\/p>\n

Tap to Pay has also been integrated allowing riders to use credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and more.<\/p>\n

Apps and current passes for active Token Transit passengers will update to QR code passes automatically and will update every 10 seconds to prevent pass sharing.<\/p>\n

1-Ride, 5-Ride, 20-Ride, Day pass and 31-Day passes and well as Reduced Fare passes will still be available for purchase on the App. The new system will be able to accept Tap to Pay with credit or debit as well as smartphones and watches.<\/p>\n

Those using Token Transit can now pay as they go for the lowest fare during travel. This option is for single rides and day passes that can be purchased through the app. Riders who purchase $52 in 1-Ride or Day passes will have free rides for the rest of the month.<\/p>\n
