Bethlehem<\/a> dropped down to 8-5 on Tuesday, ending the team’s three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Paxton Bobcats<\/a>, falling 20-5. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bobcats earlier this season, when they won 10-8.<\/p>\n

Kason Paul<\/a> made the most of his time in the batter’s box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with seven stolen bases, three runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Bethlehem’s success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 7-1 (and 1-4 when he doesn’t). The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Lock<\/a>, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.<\/p>\n

As for Paxton, they moved to 7-8 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 24th (when they won 21-2).<\/p>\n

On Paxton’s side, Blake Thompson<\/a> was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. That’s the most strikeouts Thompson has posted since back in February. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.<\/p>\n

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Case Moore<\/a>, who went 4-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Asher Jones<\/a>, who got on base in three of his six plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.<\/p>\n

Bethlehem has already played their next matchup, a 16-1 victory against Graceville on the 9th. As for Paxton, they also didn’t take long to hit the field again: they’ve already played their next game, a 12-2 win against L.E.A.D.
