{"id":165427,"date":"2026-04-14T14:06:06","date_gmt":"2026-04-14T14:06:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/165427\/"},"modified":"2026-04-14T14:06:06","modified_gmt":"2026-04-14T14:06:06","slug":"man-and-juvenile-charged-with-igniting-fires-in-upper-darby","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/165427\/","title":{"rendered":"Man and juvenile charged with igniting fires in Upper Darby"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An unhoused man and a juvenile have been charged with lighting unrelated fires in Upper Darby during the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday and Saturday, a 15-year-old township resident ignited two fires: a trash can in the area of Clinton Road and Long Lane and then again cardboard boxes against a building in the 600 block of Long Lane.<\/p>\n<p>Upper Darby Police Superintendent Timothy Bernhardt said police surveyed businesses and found video of one of the incidents to identify the subject. On Sunday, an alert officer spotted the teen and took him into custody<\/p>\n<p>Bernhardt said there was no property damage and the teen was being charged as a juvenile.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after midnight Sunday, Lamont Kindle Jr., 36, was charged with igniting a trash can fire along Barrington Road.<\/p>\n<p>Kindle was charged with arson endangering property-reckless endangerment of inhabited buildings, criminal trespass-breaking into a structure, loitering and prowling, possession of an instrument of crime and dangerous burning.<\/p>\n<p>He was arraigned before District Judge Benjamin Johns who set bail at 10 percent of $100,000.
