BETHEL TWP., Pa. – A Florida man has been identified as the victim of a hit-and-run incident that happened Friday on I-78 in Berks County.<\/p>\n

The Berks County Coroner says 33-year-old Phillip Daniel Henderson of Bessemer, Florida, was struck and killed by a passing box truck while adjusting the load on his tractor trailer that was pulled to the shoulder.<\/p>\n

Officials say the box truck failed to stop and fled the scene.<\/p>\n

The incident happened on 78 eastbound just east of exit 13 in Bethel Township at approximately 11:15 a.m. Friday.<\/p>\n

Henderson was pronounced deceased at the scene at 12:20 p.m. Friday by the Berks County Coroner\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday in the Lehigh County Coroner\u2019s Office and Forensic Center.<\/p>\n

The investigation into this incident is ongoing. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information is encouraged to contact the Pennsylvania State Police, Hamburg, at 610-562-6885.<\/p>\n
