A free bike rodeo aimed at helping kids ride safely this summer is coming to Erie.<\/p>\n

PennDOT<\/a>, Safe Kids Erie County, and Shriners Children\u2019s Erie are hosting the event on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Shriners Children\u2019s Erie at 1645 West 8th Street. The goal is to teach children safe biking habits just in time for warmer weather.<\/p>\n

Children of all ages are welcome to participate, but they must bring a bike, a helmet, and a parent or guardian to sign a permission slip. Activities will include an obstacle course to practice bike\u2011handling skills, helmet safety checks, and minor bike repairs. Loaner bikes will be available for those who need one.<\/p>\n

All participants will be entered into a drawing to win a new bike, and a light meal will be provided. Organizers encourage families to pre\u2011register through PennDOT\u2019s website.<\/a><\/p>\n
