Campbell\u2019s Company<\/a> and The Campbell\u2019s Foundation announced on April 14 $1 million in Community Impact Grants \u2013 the program\u2019s largest single-year annual investment \u2013 awarded to 50 nonprofit organizations, including six Camden organizations. This brings Campbell\u2019s fiscal 2026 total grantmaking to more than $2.9 million.<\/p>\n Grants support initiatives aligned with the foundation\u2019s focus areas: increasing food access, encouraging healthy living and strengthening neighborhoods. About 33.9%<\/a> of Camden residents\u00a0live in poverty,\u00a0according to data from the U.S. Census, more than triple \u00a0the statewide average of 9.2%, making the nonprofit organizations that support those individuals and families essential.<\/p>\n \u201cProviding Community Impact Grants reflects the commitment our team members have to the communities where they live and work,\u201d said Kate Barrett<\/a>, president of The Campbell\u2019s Foundation. \u201cThese grants reach the full footprint of our operations, fueling lasting change in the neighborhoods we call home.\u201d<\/p>\n Organizations are nominated by Campbell employees to apply for grants and are reviewed by the foundation\u2019s employee-led volunteer executive committee.<\/p>\n Camden-based\u00a0grant recipients are:<\/p>\n The Heart of Camden,\u00a0Inc.<\/a>, a second-year grant recipient\u00a0that\u00a0works to improve quality of life in Camden through affordable housing, community development, and wellness programming. Grants will support expanded youth enrichment, fitness and mindfulness programming, and access to nutritious food for families.
\nThe Neighborhood Center<\/a>,\u00a0a fifth-year recipient that provides a safe space for academic achievement, athletic development, and arts programs for children. Grant funding will provide improved equipment and\u00a0support increased food production for the center\u2019s urban farm and community garden.
\nNew Jersey Agricultural Society<\/a>, a third-time recipient that works to increase access to fresh, local produce and strengthen\u00a0regional food systems. Grant funding will support the collection and distribution of rescued produce to food-insecure communities in Camden.
\nLUCY Outreach<\/a>,\u00a0a\u00a0third-time\u00a0recipient that\u00a0empowers Camden youth to become leaders through programs that support educational, social, emotional, and physical growth. Grants will\u00a0support health and wellness programming.
\nUrbanPromise<\/a>, a five-time recipient that equips Camden\u2019s children and young adults with the skills necessary for academic achievement, life management, spiritual growth, and Christian leadership. Grants will\u00a0support the\u00a0RiverGuides\u00a0program, which promotes physical activity, healthy living, and connection to the environment.
\nThe Food Trust<\/a>, a five-time recipient that works with neighborhoods, institutions, retailers,\u00a0farmers\u00a0and policymakers to ensure delicious, nutritious food for all.
