PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — The M\u00fctter Museum in Philadelphia’s Center City is about to transform into a fun and colorful celebration.<\/p>\n
It’s getting ready to host the 3rd annual “Radiant Ball.”<\/p>\n
“There’ll be dancing, there’ll be music, there’ll be food, the museum will be open, and we’ll have our, Norris Gallery open, where people can come and actually see behind the scenes, museum and library objects that kind of transport you to that time,” said Sara Ray, the senior director of interpretation and engagement at The M\u00fctter Museum.<\/p>\n
She says the ball is a celebration of Marie Curie, who discovered radium and polonium and was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize, among many other accomplishments.<\/p>\n
More than 500 people attended last year’s event, which helps raise money for the museum.<\/p>\n
Guests can let their imagination run wild when it comes to the dress code.<\/p>\n
“People really kind of, like, you know, take the theme and the opportunity and go many different directions with it. So you’ll see people totally dressed to the nines. You’ll see people that are coming in a more casual way. There’s a lot of kind of, like, glowing green aesthetic, you know? And people that are really kind of tapping into that period of history, right? Like, the very earliest part of the 19th century,” said Ray.<\/p>\n
The 3rd annual Radiant Ball is next Friday, April 24, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.<\/p>\n
