More than $325 million is being invested in 110 ongoing road projects across the Northwest Region, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.<\/p>\n

These projects include roadway and bridge improvements such as the repaving and reconstruction of Interstates 90, 80 and 79; investments into the Bayfront Parkway Project; Route 62\/322 Improvement Project, and updates to Routes 77 and 426 in Corry.<\/p>\n

Here is how that funding will be divided into projects around Erie County, according to PennDOT.<\/p>\n

How Gov. Shapiro\u2019s funding will help projects in Erie CountyThe Bayfront Parkway Project<\/a>: $121 million. Started in 2023 with work to be completed by 2027. Work includes a multifaced project with pedestrian improvements, two roundabouts, a grade separated intersection, missing trail connections and improved lighting.Route 832<\/a>: $6.3 million. Started in 2025. Work includes paving 1.25 miles, traffic signal upgrades and permanent speed tables on Route 832 in Millcreek Township.Corry paving<\/a>: $9.8 million. Started in March 2026 to be completed in 2027. Work includes paving Route 77, Route 426, W. Washington St., and S. Center St. in Corry.I-90: $19 million. Started in 2025 with repairs to I-79. Paving on I-90 from mile marker 18 to mile marker 23 and mechanized patching from mile marker 23 to mile marker 35.\"\"\/I-79: $37 million. Started in 2026. Work includes paving 13 miles on I-79 from mile marker 165 to mile marker 178.Route 5: A low bid was placed in April for $2.2 million. Work includes paving 5.21 miles of Route 5 in Fairview and Millcreek townships. No timeline has been announced.More: Pennsylvania bridges are coming down after vehicle hits. What PennDOT is doing to stop it<\/a>I-79 dual bridges<\/a>: Bidding to open in the fall of 2026 with work to be completed in 2027. Work includes repairs to two bridges over CSX and Norfolk Southern Railroads, Irwin Drive, Rudolph Avenue and West 16th Street.Erie bike loop: Approximately $129,000. Work includes roadway paint and signs to create a bike lane on French Street from East Ninth Street to East 26th Street. No timeline has been announced for this project.<\/p>\n
