(WHTM) \u2014 A Brooklyn man who stole $66,000 worth of liquor through hundreds of orders placed at Pennsylvania stores in an identity theft scheme was sentenced Monday, the state\u2019s attorney general said.<\/p>\n
Attorney General Dave Sunday announced Eugene Antwi, 26, will spend between four months and just under two years after he pleaded guilty to felony charges of identity theft and theft by deception. Antwi will also have to spend two years on probation after he is released.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis defendant crossed the Commonwealth to perpetrate a criminal scheme stealing from unsuspecting Pennsylvanians and defrauding the Liquor Control Board,\u201d Sunday said. \u201cCollaboration between law enforcement, and diligent work from the grand jurors, unraveled a wide-ranging spree of conduct.\u201d<\/p>\n
Gas station armed robbery in 2023 leads to charges against 2 Carlisle men <\/a><\/p>\n More than 200 orders that totaled $66,000 for \u201chigh-end\u201d liquors were placed by Antwi at stores in 21 Pennsylvania counties between August 2023 and September 2024, Sunday said. Antwi used false identities and stolen bank cards to pace the orders.<\/p>\n An investigation handled by Sunday\u2019s office, the Pennsylvania State Police and involving a grand jury led to charges against Antwi for the identity theft scheme, Sunday said.<\/p>\n Antwi was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $66,000. He was arrested in December by the New York Police Department.<\/a><\/p>\n
