\t\t\tOBITUARY\t\t<\/p>\n
On April 12, 2026, Rocky passed away peacefully as he wished at home surrounded by his wife of 59 years, Jane, sons Chucky, Jason and A.J., and wives Jenn and Maury.<\/p>\n
\nBorn in Dunmore in 1945, he was the middle son of Charles and Martha Boykus Sabatelle. He was a 1963 graduate of Dunmore High School where he played football with dear friends, Pat Sardone and the late Van Chiavacci.<\/p>\n
\nRocky had a great knowledge of the meat industry. In younger years, he worked for the Hodin-owned Giant Markets, Scranton, Meat Specialist for Wetterau Food Services. In 1978, Jane and Rocky opened Sabatelle\u2019s Italian Market in Pittston, PA.<\/p>\n
\nGifted with an extraordinary art ability, he enjoyed drawing, sketching, and painting daily. Along with his Pittston friends, Joe and Sammy, Rocky enjoyed going to car shows, watching Bear Jackson, and shining his Studebaker. His looked forward to having coffee at Al\u2019s Quickmart, Elmhurst and Family Night Pizza at Al\u2019s with Jimmy Cortese and friends.<\/p>\n
\nCharles life was filled with plans, determination, respect, and blessings.<\/p>\n
\nSurviving is his wife of 59 years, Jane Dougher Sabatelle, sons Chucky and wife Maury, West Pittston, Jason, Scranton, A. J. and his wife Jenn, grandchildren Alisabeth Sabatelle, Brooklyn, NY, his namesake, Rocky and Movie Star Mauve Sabatelle and Cammy McDonough, Springbrook Township (who Papa truly adored), brother William Sabatelle and his wife Linda, Archibald, sister-in-law\u2019s Martha Dougher, Mary Ellen Coelho, James Dougher and wife Cathy, Peter and Margi Parinisi, Joe and Patricia Cardoni.<\/p>\n
\nPredeceased include his mother and father, brother James, aunts, uncles, niece Faye Frazier, nephews Patrick Dougher, Timmy Dougher, Billy McNese, and James Dougher. Uncle Charlie was truly blessed to have a very special relationship with all his nieces and nephews who survive him.<\/p>\n
\nThe family wishes to give special thanks to Dr. Tracy Galardi, Nurse Kaitlyn, Dr. Kevin Olsen, HHCP Hospice Nurse Judy and the loving support Jane has received through this difficult time from friends and family.<\/p>\n
\nRelatives and friends are invited to a public viewing Thursday, April 16th, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Graziano Funeral Home, 700 South Township Boulevard, Pittston Township, PA 18640. Mass will be held Friday, April 17th, at 10:00 a.m., St. Catherine\u2019s of Siena Church, 220 Church Street, Moscow, PA 18444. Friends are asked to go directly to the church the morning of the funeral.<\/p>\n
\nIn lieu of flowers, we ask donations to be made to Tunnel to Towers, 2361 Hyland Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306 or the Greater Pittston Santa Squad, 11 Searle Street, Pittston, PA 18640.<\/p>\n
