BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA \u2014 A 19-year-old Philadelphia man is in custody and charged with firing shots into a group of juveniles earlier this month, something that he apparently had done several times before, police said.<\/p>\n
Talgat Turgunbekov, 19, of Philadelphia, turned himself in to Bensalem Police on Thursday for his alleged involvement in a weekend shooting and for several other similar incidents that were never reported to police.<\/p>\n
Bensalem Police said that a group of juveniles was hanging out in the parking lot at 3800 Horizon Boulevard at 7:10 p.m. on Oct. 11 when they saw a man sitting in a blue Toyota nearby.<\/p>\n
Police said the man then fired two shots toward the group before speeding away. No one was injured during the shooting. Police found two 9mm shell casings in the area. <\/p>\n
The juveniles said the shooter was the same man who had chased them and fired shots at them several times before, police said. <\/p>\n
A Sept. 10 incident involved multiple gunshots fired after witnesses saw a similar blue sedan. On Wednesday, police spotted the suspect’s vehicle. The driver accelerated toward an officer\u2019s car before fleeing. Police obtained the vehicle’s registration number before it jumped a curb and fled across a grassy area. <\/p>\n
Turgunbekov matched the alleged shooter\u2019s description, police said. <\/p>\n
Police said he was also involved in a 2024 road rage incident where Turgunbekov allegedly pointed a BB rifle and threw a tire iron through another vehicle\u2019s rear window. <\/p>\n
The juveniles from the Oct. 11th shooting positively identified Turgunbekov as the suspect. <\/p>\n
Turgunbekov is charged with Aggravated Assault, Carrying a Firearm Without a License, Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police, Simple Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, and related charges. <\/p>\n
