ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM<\/a>) \u2014\u00a0A Pennsylvania man was arrested on Monday after troopers said he violated traffic laws and possessed a loaded gun for which he didn\u2019t have a valid permit.<\/p>\n

Marc Alan Bundy, 27, of Millmont, Pa., was arrested on Monday, April 13, after a traffic stop in the town of Elmira on the following charges, as stated in a release from New York State Police<\/a> (NYSP):<\/p>\n

Criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree (class C felony)<\/p>\n

Aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the second degree<\/p>\n

Operating a motor vehicle without an inspection certificate<\/p>\n

On Monday, around 8:30 a.m., NYSP spotted a pickup truck traveling northbound on Corning Road without a front license plate, a valid inspection sticker, and the driver, later identified as Bundy, not wearing a seatbelt. Bundy then pulled into a business that was nearby, and a traffic stop was initiated, troopers said.<\/p>\n

During the stop, troopers found a loaded handgun that was partially tucked away under the center console, according to the release. The handgun was then secured, and Bundy was identified as the operator.<\/p>\n

According to the release, Bundy was also found to have a suspended New York State driver\u2019s license with multiple suspensions, along with active warrants out of the City of Elmira and the Village of Elmira Heights. Troopers then checked Bundy\u2019s firearm credentials and learned he did not have a valid pistol permit, the release stated. Bundy\u2019s truck was also searched, revealing no additional contraband, troopers said.<\/p>\n

As a result, Bundy was arrested on the above-listed charges and later processed at the NYSP barracks in Horseheads, according to the release. Bundy was then arraigned in the Village of Elmira Heights Court and sent to the Chemung County Jail on bail set at $15,000 cash, $25,000 bond, or $25,000 partially secured bond.<\/p>\n
