Ready to book a vacation? Cruising is returning to Philadelphia this week!<\/p>\n

The new PhilaPort <\/a>cruise terminal, built on a 16-acre site adjacent to the Philadelphia International Airport along Atlantic Avenue, is preparing for its grand debut.<\/p>\n

Norwegian Cruise Line’s<\/a>\u00a0Norwegian Jewel\u00a0departs Thursday, April 16, 2026, launching service from the City of Brotherly Love to Bermuda and beyond.<\/p>\n

Due to construction delays, a spokesperson for Norwegian Cruise Line shared with NBC10 that the embarkation process for the initial sailings will operate from a temporary facility while final development work is being completed at the permanent facility.<\/p>\n

During this summer, officials said, Norwegian Jewel, which has the capacity to accommodate 2,300 guests, will offer voyages to the island paradise of Bermuda, where the ship will dock overnight, giving guests time to enjoy all the island has to offer.<\/p>\n

Then during the cooler months, the ship will sail to Canada and New England.<\/p>\n

The ship will alternate homeports between Philadelphia and Quebec City, according to officials.<\/p>\n

Officials said the new port is expected to create 2,185 new direct and indirect jobs and generate an additional $300 million in economic output for the Commonwealth.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Ready to book a vacation?
