Tonight, Millcreek police are warning residents to be on alert after reports of a man going door-to-door, in some cases trying to open front doors.<\/p>\n
Neighbors in this Millcreek Township area say a man has been showing up at homes, knocking and pounding, opening screen doors, and in some cases trying to turn doorknobs \u2014 even when families are inside.<\/p>\n
Residents describe him as a white, middle-aged man with shoulder-length curly hair and a beard. He was last seen wearing a white baseball hat, a light gray hoodie, and black pants.<\/p>\n
Neighbors say he may be posing as a solar panel salesman but does not have proof or business cards.<\/p>\n
The most recent location where residents reported seeing the man was around West 24th and Homer Avenue, as well as James Avenue.<\/p>\n
While police cannot provide additional details due to the investigation being active, they say residents should always call the dispatch line if a similar incident occurs.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe encourage the public, if there is a similar incident, to call us at our main dispatch number. We will investigate every incident fully,\u201d said a Millcreek police officer.<\/p>\n
We reached out online to obtain the photo neighbors say is being shared but have not heard back.<\/p>\n
Officers say the best thing you can do is trust your instincts, keep doors locked, and never hesitate to call 911 if you feel threatened.<\/p>\n
