{"id":167884,"date":"2026-04-16T20:40:08","date_gmt":"2026-04-16T20:40:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/167884\/"},"modified":"2026-04-16T20:40:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-16T20:40:08","slug":"medical-emergency-child-abuse-report-among-wyomissing-calls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/167884\/","title":{"rendered":"Medical Emergency, Child Abuse Report Among Wyomissing Calls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WYOMISSING, PA \u2014 Police responded to a wide range of incidents across Wyomissing on Tuesday, including a reported cardiac arrest, a child abuse complaint, traffic enforcement activity, and multiple emergency calls, according to department records.<\/p>\n<p>According to police, officers were dispatched at 4:19 a.m. to Woodland Road for a burglar alarm, where the exterior of the business was found secure and nothing suspicious was noted.<\/p>\n<p>Police reported that at 4:49 a.m., officers responded to Park Road North for an automatic fire alarm related to a water-flow issue. The fire department handled the call, authorities said. A second alarm call on Park Road North at 4:59 a.m. was attributed to the fire department already being on scene.<\/p>\n<p>At 6:42 a.m., police responded to Park Road North near Hill Avenue for a reported cardiac arrest. According to police, EMS and the Wyomissing Fire Department handled the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Officers were dispatched at 7:09 a.m. to Route 422 near Ramp CA for a 911 hang-up call, but the caller was not located, police reported. According to authorities, officers also assisted an outside agency with the execution of a search warrant on State Hill Road beginning at 7:46 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Police reported a non-reportable vehicle crash at 9:20 a.m. on Hill Avenue. According to investigators, one vehicle struck another vehicle\u2019s door as a passenger opened it. No injuries were reported, and one vehicle was towed.<\/p>\n<p>At 10:00 a.m., officers conducted an aggressive-driver enforcement detail on Reading Boulevard that resulted in nine citations and four written warnings, according to police.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities reported a walk-in complaint of suspected child abuse at 10:11 a.m. on Reading Boulevard. Police stated the case remains under follow-up investigation.<\/p>\n<p>At 11:16 a.m., officers responded to Woodland Road for an automatic fire alarm that was handled by fire personnel without police assistance. Police later answered a 911 open-line call at 11:45 a.m. on Old Wyomissing Road near Revere Boulevard and another 911 hang-up call at 1:08 p.m. on Museum Road, determining in both cases that there was no emergency.<\/p>\n<p>According to investigators, a traffic stop at 12:07 p.m. on Reading Boulevard near Evans Avenue resulted in a warning for a stop sign violation.<\/p>\n<p>At 3:26 p.m., police took a walk-in fraud complaint on Reading Boulevard. Authorities said the incident remains under investigation.<\/p>\n<p>Police reported a two-vehicle non-reportable crash at 5:23 p.m. near Route 12 and Route 422. According to authorities, both drivers were uninjured, neither vehicle needed a tow, and the drivers exchanged information.<\/p>\n<p>Police also logged a special detail on State Hill Road from 5:45 p.m. to 7:17 p.m. for a homeowners association meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Traffic enforcement continued through the evening. At 5:45 p.m., police cited a driver on Park Road North at North Wyomissing Boulevard for expired and suspended registration, along with expired inspection and emissions. At 6:10 p.m. on Ramp T near Woodland Road, another driver was cited for expired registration. A second stop at the same location at 7:00 p.m. ended with a warning for recently expired registration.<\/p>\n<p>Police also reported citations at 7:22 p.m. on Hill Avenue at 8th Avenue for expired inspection, at 7:27 p.m. on Wyomissing Boulevard at Garfield Avenue for expired registration and inspection, and at 8:17 p.m. on Crossing Drive at Spring Street for a lighting violation, expired registration, and a suspended driver\u2019s license. In that last stop, police said the license was seized for PennDOT.<\/p>\n<p>At 9:17 p.m., officers responded to Berkshire Court for a fire alarm at a hotel. Police reported that Engine 79 personnel checked the building and determined an errant child had triggered the system.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities also responded at 10:08 p.m. to Monroe Avenue near Lake Avenue for a traffic complaint involving a speeding vehicle and a driver shouting profanities. Police said the vehicle was gone before officers arrived.<\/p>\n<p>Late-night traffic enforcement on Route 422 near North Wyomissing Boulevard produced a series of speeding citations at 10:32 p.m., 10:48 p.m., and 10:58 p.m., according to police. Another driver was cited at 11:02 p.m. on the same stretch of roadway for speeding. Police also cited a driver at 11:10 p.m. on Route 222 near Penn Avenue for following too closely and failing to maintain a lane, and warned another driver at 11:19 p.m. on Penn Avenue near Reading Avenue for a lane violation and unsafe speed.<\/p>\n<p>At 11:27 p.m., police responded to Berkshire Court for a 911 hang-up call and learned from a hotel guest that a child had pressed the 911 button in an elevator. No emergency was found.
