Residents bring up affordability concerns at Erie City Council meeting<\/p>\n

Erie City Council chambers drew a crowd looking to have their say about what they call the affordability crisis in the area.<\/p>\n

Dozens of people showed up on Wednesday night to make their case about the rising price of housing, groceries and health care, among other topics.<\/p>\n

Erie County to receive over $18 million in state funding <\/a><\/p>\n

On a night when a discussion was to be held on the Erie Events market house project, folks in attendance were stressing the importance of projects designed to help working-class people.<\/p>\n

One supporter spoke about a sign of the times that shows the financial stress people in the area are under.<\/p>\n

Erie County holds logic, accuracy test ahead of May primaries <\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cActually, earlier today I spoke with a couple, and they said something to me that I could say traumatized me; they said that they had to take out a loan to pay for groceries, like what type of reality are we living in?\u201d said Carlos Mora, with Erie County United.<\/p>\n

Infinite Erie in February released a housing plan which included data from the Census Bureau that found that almost half of Erie renters are severely cost burdened.<\/p>\n
