PITTSBURGH \u2014 A mother, son and two firefighters were injured as a massive fire spread to two homes in Pittsburgh\u2019s Lawrenceville overnight.<\/p>\n
The fire broke out around 12:30 a.m. Thursday in the 2400 block of Ligonier Street. <\/p>\n
Click here for more photos from the scene<\/a><\/p>\n Public safety officials said a man, who was in the attic, escaped to the roof and jumped to a neighboring home. He was seriously injured with first-degree burns to his face and second-degree burns to his hands. His mother, who was also at home, was taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation.<\/p>\n One firefighter was taken to a hospital with a hip injury. Another was taken to be evaluated for minor burns to the face. <\/p>\n At one point, a mayday was called when a floor collapsed inside one of the homes while firefighters were inside.
