The land also includes popular hiking destinations, such as the Hawk Rock Overlook on the Appalachian Trail.<\/p>\n<p>Over time, invasive species like striped maple, mile\u2011a\u2011minute vine and tree\u2011of\u2011heaven replaced native trees, leaving the forest degraded and less resilient.<\/p>\n<p>TNC partnered with the Borough to enroll the property in the Working Woodlands program, with the goal of restoring a diverse, climate\u2011resilient native forest.
