\n Reading FC is set to take on Cardiff City at 3pm today, Saturday, April 18, and orders have been put in place to give police powers to disperse individuals and groups who are causing, or are likely to cause, harassment, alarm or distress in specified areas.\n<\/p>\n
\n There are mounted officers, multiple police vehicles and police dogs in place around the train station.\n<\/p>\n

\n Thames Valley Police (TVP) states that there are two Section 35 orders enacted as a preventative measure “to help ensure the safety of fans and local communities in the area”.\n<\/p>\n
\n The orders will be in place from 8am until 8pm on Saturday, 18 April, in Reading\n<\/p>\n
\n They cover the following locations.\n<\/p>\n
\n Select Car Leasing Stadium dispersal area bound by the A33, Longwater Drive, Flagstaff Road, Green Park Railway Station and South Oak Way.\n<\/p>\n
\n Reading town centre dispersal area bound by Caversham Road, Richfield Avenue, Cow Lane, Beresford Road, Western Elms Avenue, Tilehurst Road, Bath Road, Southampton Street, London Road, Watlington Street, Forbury Road and Western Road, including Reading railway station.\n<\/p>\n
\n In addition, tactics including football spotters, mounted officers, tactical cyclists, police dogs and drones will be deployed to provide reassurance to local communities.\n<\/p>\n
\n Chief Inspector Dave Washington, tactical commander for the match, said: \u201cWe want fans to enjoy the match, support their team and return home safely, but antisocial behaviour and disorder will not be tolerated.\n<\/p>\n

\n \u201cWhile the vast majority of supporters behave responsibly, we will take firm action against anyone intent on causing disorder, including arrests and football banning orders.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cIf you are coming to the match, please say hello to our officers and speak to police, staff or stewards on the day if you have any concerns.\n<\/p>\n
