{"id":170744,"date":"2026-04-20T12:10:07","date_gmt":"2026-04-20T12:10:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/170744\/"},"modified":"2026-04-20T12:10:07","modified_gmt":"2026-04-20T12:10:07","slug":"pittsburgh-recreation-centers-will-be-open-for-remote-learning-to-host-youth-draft-parties-wpxi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/170744\/","title":{"rendered":"Pittsburgh recreation centers will be open for remote learning, to host youth draft parties \u2013 WPXI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">PITTSBURGH \u2014 City of Pittsburgh Recreation Centers will be open for remote learning for students this week during the NFL Draft.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">From Wednesday through Friday, the city said students will have access to internet, supplies, activities, breakfast and lunch throughout the school day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">All 10 recreation centers will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on those days, except the Jefferson Recreation Center, which will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">On Thursday and Friday, the city will host draft parties for kids at the Ammon Rec Center and Magee Rec Center from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">The draft parties will have food and special activities on each day, including:<\/p>\n<p>Thursday: punt, pass and kick games, flag football skills\u00a0challenges\u00a0and raffles\u00a0Friday: flag clinic with Pittsburgh Flag Football\u00a0League<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">On Saturday, the events will end with flag football games from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Ammon Rec Center and Magee Rec Center.
