I COME DOWN HERE EVERY DAY AND WALK, AND I WENT TO GO THE TYPICAL WAY AND IT\u2019S ALL BLOCKED OFF. AND THAT\u2019S BECAUSE THIS IS WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO SEE THE WEEK OF THE DRAFT HERE AT POINT STATE PARK. I THINK IT\u2019S REALLY EXCITING TO HAVE STUFF GOING ON HERE. IT\u2019S CLOSER TO US THAN NORTH SHORE. YOU CAN EXPECT ACTIVITIES LIKE AN AUTOGRAPH STATION AND A CHANCE TO VIEW THE STEELERS LOMBARDI TROPHIES. AND IT\u2019S COOL THAT A LOT OF LOCAL STUFF TOO. LIKE I THINK MAYBE ROMAN BEING IS SUPPOSED TO BE THERE. LIKE THAT\u2019S LIKE MY FAVORITE COFFEE SHOP OF ALL TIME. AND THE FOOD, OF COURSE, THE FOOD. A FEW LOCAL SPOTS WERE CHOSEN AS OFFICIAL CONCESSIONS. THOSE WILL BE LIVE FRESH JUICERY THE ROAMING BEAN PEAS, BIRD WAGON, REMO\u2019S CATERING, STREET FRIES, SECRETOS DE MIS ABUELOS AND VITALIA WOOD FIRED OVEN. AND OVER ON THE NORTH SHORE YOU CAN EXPECT PLAY ZONES AND NFL LOUNGE FIELD GOAL KICK ON SHAW\u2019S FIELD AND MORE. AND THERE WERE, OF COURSE BE CONCESSIONS THERE AS WELL. YOU CAN EXPECT CRAZY HORSE COFFEE FRY BAR, MOBILE CHEF, INTERNATIONAL FOODS, STEEL CITY HOT DOGS AND TENNESSEE CRUSHED WATER ICE. I THINK IT\u2019S EXCITING FOR THE CITY THAT WE FINALLY GET TO HAVE SORT OF HOST A BIG EVENT. AND AS YOU CAN SEE BEHIND ME, ALMOST ALL OF THE ENTRY POINTS HERE AT POINT STATE PARK ARE CLOSED. BUT THAT DOESN\u2019T MEAN IT\u2019S OFF LIMITS. Pittsburgh&#8217;s Action News 4 has put together a guide on what you need to know about one of the biggest sports events happening in the city this week. VIDEO: NFL releases new map of draft activities in North Shore, Point State ParkWHAT IS THE NFL DRAFT &amp; HOW DOES IT WORK? The NFL Draft is an annual team selection meeting where (mostly) college football elite players will find their new homes with one of the league&#8217;s 32 franchises. In all, according to the NFL&#8217;s website, more than 250 players will be drafted over the course of three days. The selection spans seven rounds, with each of the 32 teams receiving one pick per round. The Draft allows teams with lower records from the previous season to select the top players first in an effort to help them improve for the next season. The Super Bowl champion winning team will pick last in each round. Players must be at least three years removed from high school and have either completed or forfeited their college eligibility. DATES, LOCATIONS &amp; HOW YOU CAN WATCH THE DRAFTThe NFL Draft will be held in Pittsburgh from April 23 to April 25, 2026. It will utilize both Acrisure Stadium in the North Shore and Point State Park downtown. In addition, events will be held at the Heinz History Center in the Strip District. The NFL Draft is expected to be the largest visitor event in the city&#8217;s history, with hundreds of thousands of people expected to attend in person. (NFL Clear Bag Policy will be in effect)Small purses\/clutch bags will be carried through screeningSize exceptions will be made for medically necessary itemsStrollers and baby carriages will be permitted, subject to screeningStrollers &#8211; Strollers and baby carriages are permitted; all bags and blankets must be removed and screened by X-ray and will be physically\/visually inspected.Cameras \u2013 Small cameras and binoculars will be permitted. Professional-grade camera and recording equipment will only be permitted for properly Draft Credentialed mediaReusable Water Bottles \u2013 Fans will be allowed to enter with an empty, reusable water bottle for free water filling when inside the perimeter.For more information, view the NFL&#8217;s website here.TRANSPORTATION, PARKING DURING THE DRAFT Parking and other methods of transportation in the city have been the &#8220;talk of the town&#8221; since it was announced that Pittsburgh would be hosting the 2026 draft.  Concerns over parking have led to local schools leasing parking lots for travelers, and local transportation giants offering new ways to get locals and visitors around Pittsburgh.The message from officials: Don&#8217;t drive. Pittsburgh Regional Transit has provided a flow page to answer how you can get around from different areas of the city. Click here to find your routes and schedule.Most bus routes will be running their Saturday schedules on Thursday and Friday to minimize road congestion. Despite the change in schedule for the bus routes, officials with PRT said there will be more availability for rail services.All bus and rail schedules will be posted on that page. According to the page, the transit fare will be $2.75 for 3 hours or $25 for a 7-day pass (unlimited rides).The Gateway Clipper will also be able to transport riders back and forth.
