John Fetterman (D-PA) has few friends among Pennsylvania House Democrats would be inaccurate.<\/p>\n<p>The truth is, he has none, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/punchbowl.news\/article\/senate\/fetterman-dems\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">report<\/a> by Max Cohen at Punchbowl News.<\/p>\n<p>The 6\u20198\u2033 hoodie-clad former Pennsylvania lieutenant governor was elected to the Senate in 2022, surviving both a stroke and a rough general election battle against Dr. Mehmet Oz, who was endorsed by President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>Fetterman\u2019s tenure in the Senate has been notable for a series of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/politics\/fetterman-joins-republicans-to-sink-war-powers-resolution-on-iran\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">public breaks<\/a> with the Democrats over issues like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/media\/tv\/john-fetterman-says-he-cant-understand-why-most-democrats-view-israel-negatively-thats-our-special-ally\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Israel<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/media\/tv\/john-fetterman-goes-to-bat-for-ice-on-fox-news-we-should-round-up-and-deport-all-the-criminals\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">immigration<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/media\/tv\/fetterman-pushes-back-on-fox-anchor-saying-he-claimed-trump-tariffs-went-pretty-well\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">tariffs<\/a>. He has expressed more openness to supporting several of Trump\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/politics\/fetterman-fires-back-at-critics-who-freak-out-because-hes-meeting-with-hegseth-just-doing-my-job\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">nominees<\/a> than most Democrats, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/media\/news\/just-in-markwayne-mullin-dhs-nomination-advances-to-a-full-senate-vote-with-help-of-democratic-lawmaker\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">breaking<\/a> with his party to vote with the Republicans. Over the past few years, Fetterman has also racked up several <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/media\/john-fetterman-says-unlike-most-dems-im-not-going-to-hate-everything-president-trump-does\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">friendly appearances<\/a> with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/media\/news\/foxs-mcenany-gushes-to-john-fetterman-youre-the-person-i-would-fear-most-running-for-democratic-nomination\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fox News<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/media\/news\/fetterman-pressed-on-fox-news-about-whether-he-plans-to-switch-parties\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">hosts<\/a> and other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/media\/podcasts\/thought-you-were-somebody-youre-not-sean-hannity-offer-public-apology-to-democrats-face-after-past-digs\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">conservative<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/politics\/john-fetterman-grilled-on-why-hes-still-a-democrat-by-bill-oreilly-your-party-is-against-you\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">media<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/politics\/john-fetterman-dines-with-steve-bannon-on-wedding-anniversary\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">personalities<\/a> \u2014 while the invocation of his name <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/media\/tv\/john-fetterman-mercilessly-booed-in-absentia-at-no-kings-rally-in-pennsylvania\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">draws boos<\/a> in liberal circles.<\/p>\n<p>Chatter has been circulating for months that Pennsylvania Democrats would seek to oust Fetterman in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/media\/news\/house-democrat-clique-eyes-2028-john-fetterman-ouster-axios\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">2028 primary<\/a>, when he\u2019s up for re-election; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/media\/tv\/108-point-swing-cnn-data-guru-stunned-by-john-fettermans-total-collapse-among-democrats\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">polling<\/a> shows he is very vulnerable to a primary challenger as his support among Democrats has essentially collapsed. Meanwhile, the state GOP party chair <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pennlive.com\/politics\/2026\/04\/fetterman-party-switch-rumors-could-shape-2028-pa-senate-race.html?utm_source=Sailthru&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=4\/20\/26%20AM:&amp;utm_term=Punchbowl%20AM%20and%20Active%20Subscribers%20from%20Memberful%20Combined\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">told local media<\/a> earlier this month that they were keeping an eye out for Fetterman switching parties, despite the senator\u2019s repeated insistence he would not do so.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, he has burned so many bridges within his own party, \u201c[n]ot a single Pennsylvania House Democrat in the delegation will say Fetterman should run for reelection as a Democrat,\u201d wrote Cohen on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Punchbowl News reached out to the Democrats among Pennsylvania\u2019s congressional delegation to see if any \u201cwould offer support\u201d for Fetterman\u2019s name being on the 2028 ballot again with a D by his name.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo one would,\u201d wrote Cohen.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Brendan Boyle (D-PA) said he\u2019d \u201cbe very surprised\u201d if Fetterman ran in the 2028 Democratic primary and Rep. Chris Deluzio (D-PA) highlighted the \u201cserious disagreements\u201d he had with Fetterman over the Iran war; there\u2019s speculation that both congressmen are considering running for the senate seat themselves, Cohen noted.<\/p>\n<p>Most avoided directly saying Fetterman shouldn\u2019t run but did express their views that Democratic primary voters would not be forgiving for his apostasy from the party line. \u201cIt\u2019s no secret that I\u2019ve been disappointed with some of his votes and that I\u2019m confused by it,\u201d said Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (D- added. \u201dBut I\u2019m not responsible for deciding whether he runs again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019d be running \u201cat his own peril,\u201d said Rep. Summer Lee (D-PA), and \u201cthe voters will decide that,\u201d added Rep. Dwight Evans (D-PA). Rep.
