Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, commonly called Lou Gehrig\u2019s disease, is a devastating illness with no known cause, cure or treatment to prevent or reverse it. The average survival rate is two to five years from diagnosis. ALS not only impacts the individual, but one\u2019s family physically, emotionally and financially. There is a critical need for more research and improved care services.
