RICHMOND TWP, Pa. \u2013 Driving along Route 222 near Schuler Road Sunday evening, Jordyn Stone was heading down the road when everything changed.<\/p>\n
\u201cI heard a big boom. I see right in front of me two cars that hit each other,\u201d said Stone, a volunteer firefighter with the Black Rock Volunteer Fire Co. \u201cI saw that there was smoke. I see the one driver gets out of the vehicle. I see him bleeding from his leg, and I immediately ran over to the other vehicle because I saw that the other driver did not get out of the vehicle.\u201d<\/p>\n
The crash happened just before 6 p.m. in Richmond Township.<\/p>\n
Police say 18-year-old Connor Koontz, a Fleetwood Area High School senior, was driving southbound when the vehicle crossed the center line and hit another car head-on.<\/p>\n
Stone rushed to help.<\/p>\n
\u201cI broke the driver door to get into the car and had to cut out the airbags because the airbags were completely deployed,\u201d Stone said. \u201cSo I had to cut all of them out.\u201d<\/p>\n
Koontz was rushed to the hospital but died early Monday morning.<\/p>\n
The coroner says the cause of death was blunt force trauma, and the crash has been ruled accidental.<\/p>\n
\u201cSeeing someone close to your own age pass away that young is terrible,\u201d Stone said. \u201cIt just makes me sad. I know that he was a senior in high school.
