Pennsylvania Democrats are reluctant to support Sen.\u00a0John Fetterman<\/a>, D-Pa., for re-election, according to a new report.<\/p>\n

Punchbowl News<\/a>\u00a0spoke to several Pennsylvania congressional members on Monday about whether they\u2019d be willing to endorse Fetterman for another term in 2028 despite the backlash he\u2019s been facing for opposing the Democratic Party.<\/p>\n

\u201cWant a sense\u00a0of how tenuous Sen.\u00a0John Fetterman\u2019s\u00a0(D-Pa.) position is with Pennsylvania Democrats? Not a single Pennsylvania House Democrat in the delegation will say Fetterman should run for re-election as a Democrat,\u201d the report said.<\/p>\n

Though the House members did not explicitly reject the idea of Fetterman running again, they avoided answering whether they believed Fetterman should seek a second term as a Democrat, often focusing instead on the 2026 midterm elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy focus\u00a0right now is on 2026, but I would just say I\u2019d be very surprised if he ran in the Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate,\u201d Rep. Brendan Boyle said.<\/p>\n

Rep. Chris Deluzio\u00a0also answered that he would see what happens after 2026, though Punchbowl News acknowledged both he and Boyle are rumored to be launching their own Senate bids in 2028.<\/p>\n

Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon added that she was interested in \u201cgetting through 2026 first.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll hold my tongue so I don\u2019t get in trouble,\u201d Scanlon said.<\/p>\n

Rep. Summer Lee told Punchbowl News the decision was \u201cup to him\u201d whether Fetterman should run, though she added that he would do so \u201cat his own peril.\u201d<\/p>\n

Others were more vocal about their disagreements with Fetterman, though they stopped short of rejecting the idea of Fetterman running again.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy concern\u00a0is entirely about him and his health, and I\u2019ll let 2028 take care of itself,\u201d Rep.\u00a0Madeleine Dean said. <\/p>\n

\u201cI disagree with many of his votes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"SenatorSeveral House members didn\u2019t directly comment on whether Fetterman should seek a second term and instead turned their attention to the 2026 midterm elections. AP<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s no secret\u00a0that I\u2019ve been disappointed with some of his votes and that I\u2019m confused by it,\u201d Rep.\u00a0Chrissy Houlahan added. <\/p>\n

\u201cBut I\u2019m not responsible for deciding whether he runs again.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fox News Digital\u00a0reached out to Fetterman\u2019s office and the other Pennsylvania Democrats mentioned in the report for comment.<\/p>\n

Fetterman has publicly spoken out against his party\u00a0on several issues, particularly its growing hostility against Israel. <\/p>\n

The Pennsylvania senator has also supported President Donald Trump<\/a> in his ongoing war against Iran and strict border policies.<\/p>\n

Though strategists have suggested Fetterman could switch parties because of his bipartisan stance, he previously\u00a0ruled out leaving the Democratic Party\u00a0last year.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not going to switch. I\u2019m just going to be an independent voice in the Democratic Party.
