April 22 (UPI) — Firefighters and animal control officers came together in Ohio to rescue a dog stranded in a drainage water basin off Lake Erie.<\/p>\n

Cleveland Animal Care and Control responded Tuesday when they dog was reported to have swam out into the drainage basin and appeared to be too scared to come back out.\n<\/p>\n

ACC summoned Cleveland Fire personnel for assistance.<\/p>\n

“With a little help from some canine carry-outs (beef flavor did the trick!), they were able to safely coax her out, get her harnessed and lift her to safety.,” ACC said on social media.<\/a><\/p>\n

The dog was scanned for a microchip, which revealed her owner’s information. The owner had been out searching for the missing canine.<\/p>\n
